Yes! This is a flashback to Miami Swim Week 2025 where Luza Rico designs stole our hearts.
Okay, let’s talk about Miami Swim Week for the uninformed. This massive, global event is where the world’s top swimwear designers and brands come together to launch their latest collections. But within this whirlwind of fashion, a curated space called The Bureau Fashion Week stood out as a dedicated stage for incredible emerging brands and innovative new talent to shine.
For four days, from May 29 to June 1, 2025, Miami became the epicenter of swimwear. The Bureau Fashion Week brought its highly anticipated event to a mix of stunning venues across the city, from the elegance of the Emanuel Luxury Venue to the iconic energy of The Clevelander. While the summer is practically over, Rico’s designs are timeless.

The Emanuel Luxury Venue is where I first got to experience Luza Rico‘s show. It was a stunning display of artistry. I’m still reviewing pictures! Can you believe this designer is in the medical field? It’s like something out of a superhero movie! Based in Portland, Oregon, Luza’s journey from medicine and immunization to creating gorgeous, soulful swimwear is the coolest story. It feels like she traded in her lab coat for a cape made of high quality fabrics, and her superpower is hypnotizing us with her colorful designs.

With the name Dive Deep, Walk on Water, Luza Rico perfectly sums up the spirit of her work and her own journey. It’s a name that resonates deeply with both the collection and Luza Rico’s own evolution.
One model showcased a captivating two piece ensemble where the top was a sheer, iridescent blue crop that draped like flowing water, while the skirt was a low slung creation of translucent, organically patterned discs trailing behind in ethereal ribbons. Another model emerged in a stunning white dress that felt both dramatic and poetic, with a structured, strapless top adorned with intricate floral texture and a magnificent ruffled collar. Its airy, cage like skirt created an ethereal silhouette that truly captivated the crowd and caused my camera to overheat!

Fashion can be more than just clothes; it’s a beautiful reminder that it can be a feeling, a connection, and a way to celebrate your own journey, blending her Colombian roots with a fresh, contemporary edge.
I’m so glad I was there to witness her magic. It was, without a doubt, one of the best moments of the entire week, and a perfect example of how The Bureau Fashion Week elevates the next generation of style. If you’re looking for the designer and her work, you’ll find everything under one name: Luza Rico.
