Free public beta now live at zira.chat supporting ChiShona, isiNdebele, and English across education, remittances, and cultural knowledge

Launch Announcement

ZimX Finance has officially launched ZiRA, the Zimbabwe Resource Assistant, at zira.chat, an artificial intelligence assistant purpose-built for Zimbabweans, now available in public beta.

Designed for users both in Zimbabwe and across the global diaspora, ZiRA understands Zimbabwean culture, speaks ChiShona and isiNdebele, and provides practical support across education, remittances, and cultural knowledge.

Developed by ZimX Finance under its parent company BlackMass Enterprises Ltd (Company No. 16124799), ZiRA fills a clear gap in Zimbabwe’s technology landscape. While global AI assistants serve billions of users worldwide, few are designed specifically for Zimbabwe’s linguistic, cultural, and economic context. ZiRA is built from the ground up to serve Zimbabweans.

ZiRA is live now in public beta, with additional capabilities under active development as part of the broader ZimX Finance ecosystem.

‘Every major economy is building AI tools for its people. Zimbabwe deserves the same. ZiRA is not a translation layer on top of a foreign product. It is built from the ground up to understand Zimbabwe, our languages, our history, our proverbs, our economy, and the daily realities of Zimbabweans wherever they are.’

Munashe Emperor Roy Mupoto (Emps Roy), Founder & CEO, ZimX Finance

What ZiRA Does

ZiRA, the Zimbabwe Resource Assistant, launches with three specialist modes designed to address everyday user needs.

Remittances

ZiRA helps users understand transfer fees, exchange rate structures, and expected recipient amounts before confirming a transfer, with a focus on transparency. Aligned with ZimX Finance’s planned work for the UK Zimbabwe remittance corridor, the current beta provides guidance and informational support while full remittance processing features remain under development.

Culture, History, and Language

ZiRA communicates in ChiShona and isiNdebele and provides culturally contextual knowledge spanning Zimbabwe’s history  from Great Zimbabwe to modern national development. The assistant shares proverbs, explains cultural practices, and serves as a digital heritage resource for diaspora users reconnecting with Zimbabwean identity.

Education and Research

ZiRA supports students with O Level and A Level preparation, academic research, scholarship discovery, and structured learning guidance. The platform is designed as a free, accessible educational companion for learners across Zimbabwe.

Market Context

Zimbabwe’s diaspora population is estimated at over 3 million people globally, with the United Kingdom home to one of the largest communities. The 2021 Census recorded 124,146 Zimbabwe-born residents in England and Wales, a population that has more than doubled in twenty years. The Zimbabwe remittance corridor processes approximately $2.58 billion annually, yet digital tools designed specifically for this population remain scarce. ZiRA addresses this gap by combining AI-powered assistance with deep cultural and linguistic understanding.

Planned roadmap features include WhatsApp integration, a mobile application, expanded knowledge bases, and additional specialist modes covering remittance processing, business support, health information, and agriculture.
